2024 John deere tractor turns over but won't start

The solenoid is getting power when the key is turned to the "On" position but I can't tell if it's working or not. Deere wants $175 for the complete carb and $127 for just the solenoid. That's nuts. My 6 year-old JD 125 won't start. The lights come on but when I turn the key to start there is nothing. Not a sound. I also noted the Hours indicator does not come on.
